The route

We will meet in Portsmouth on Wednesday 25th September at 18:00 to take the Brittany Ferries crossing to Saint Malo, arriving at 08:30 the following morning, when the Challenge begins. You may be a bit tight on space if you're taking a car with a bike rack; we recommend using or hiring a van to fit all of your team, bikes and gear.

Day 1: Thursday 26th September - Saint Malo to Morlaix

187 miles / 3,283m elevation:  follows La Vélomaritime hugging the Brittany coast for 188 miles to Morlaix.

Day 2: Friday 27th September - Morlaix to Quimper

206 miles / 3,424m elevation: follows the coastline to the very Western tip of France and then to Quimper, known as La Cournouaille de France, the capital of Breton Celtic tradition. This is the longest day with 206 miles and 3424m of ascent.

Day 3: Saturday 28th September - Quimper to Saint Malo

167 miles / 3,316m elevation: leaves the coast for an inland route through the Montagnes Noires back to Saint Malo, riding 167 miles.  Final evening’s dinner and awards celebration at La Demeure de Corsaire.
